Rock Tools cutting California
Rock Tools, Offset Extension.
Construction applications take many forms and when a major US contractor had an extremely long wall to cut into some of California’s hardest rock they chose a Rock Tools RTS50 tungsten carbide rock saw fitted with an offset extension. The offset enables the saw to be placed outside the edge of the excavator tracks. When material is removed a further cut can be made enabling a continuous precision vertical cut.
The contractor fitted a GPS system onto their CAT345 excavator which enabled the rock saw to cut within tolerances of less than a half inch. Given the length and height of the wall this precision cut simply saved many hundreds of thousands in costs that would have otherwise been spent in shotcrete. The Rock Tools RTS50 rock saw fitted with an offset extension more than paid for itself many times over on just this project. Rock Tools rock saws contact us in the US or National Attachments, Brazil AGF Equipamentos, Canada Creighton Rock Drill and Turkey Vektra.

Rock Tools Skid Steer Concrete Saw
Denver, Colorado July 1,2013 Rock Tools, LLC recently delivered its model RTS10D skid
steer diamond concrete saw to a customer in St. Louis, Missouri the customer’s
project requires that 5’ parapet walls be cut over a distance of 11 miles. This
project presents a unique set of challenges for the customer given the tight
working space. Originally, the customer planned on using a commonly used hand
push to complete the work. However, the push saw was frequently breaking down
and production painfully slow. Each cut with the push saw took at least 20
minutes and required two men; set up time was not included. Management was
faced with buying more hand push saws and employing more people to operate them
which would have blown out the budget or find a more productive cost effective cutting
solution.
Management contacted Rock Tools and we supplied our model
RTS10D skid steer saw which was fitted to a Takeuchi TL250 skid loader; what
followed was astonishing, what took 20 minutes a forklift and two men now took
3 minutes with one man. Time and cost
over runs are now a thing of the past. The project is now ahead of schedule and
costs have been cut. Superintendent Brian told us “I wish we’d found you
earlier, we’d have saved a bunch and moved the job along a lot quicker”.
The Rock Tools Concrete Cutter RTS10D skid steer diamond saw
is fitted to the loader using the same standard quick coupler connections which
increases efficiency reduces costs. Rock Tools providing cutting solutions for rock, concrete, asphalt and metal for its customers, worldwide. See us ALPINE and National Attachments at ICUEE, Louisville, Kentucky October 1-3.

The Excavator Rock Saw has been around since the mid 1980’s first developed provide clean and almost vibration free cuts in hard rock where hydraulic hammer’s or line drilling had been the traditional choice. The excavator rock saw was extended to run parallel to the excavator tracks usually about 1’ or so on the left hand side of the excavator. This enabled better vision for the operator to see where he was cutting. First came the tungsten carbide excavator saw and then the diamond excavator saw. Tungsten carbide excavator saws were and remain the contractors choice given that depending on blade size the teeth could easily be changed in a half hour with one man a fork and 3lb hammer. Rock Tools manufacturers the excavator rock saw with models suiting from mini excavators to mining excavators. The Rock Tools Rock Saw can be found cutting concrete in Halifax, Nova Scotia to Limestone in Pismo Beach, California. Cutting solutions with the Rock Tools excavator rock saw. www.RockSaws.com
